Built Environment
Rick Hartwig
Rick is the IET’s Built Environment Lead where he is responsible for thought leadership and policy in the Built Environment. Digitalisation and decarbonisation of the Built Environment sector are passions. Prior to this he gained experience in EU a dozen funded FP6 and FP7 projects. He was the coordinator FP7 project CILECCTA, whose main goal was to develop a ‘Life Cycle Cost plus Analysis’ tool for the development and operational management of a building that would provide the user with a single view of financial and environmental factors. His time spent in the financial sector shows his understanding of the cultural and operational challenges of digitalisation.

Andrew Rylah
Andrew is the IET Devolved Nations Lead, responsible for thought leadership and policy within this sector. Andrew is also the Programme & Operations Manager, supporting delivery of outputs across the Strategic Engagement and Partnerships team. Working in the public, private and third sector, Andrew has previous been a STEM Project Manager, organising national projects and conferences, a Performance, Programme and Risk Manager in local government and FE, and a Programme Office Manager. Andrew has an MBA, PRINCE2 and MSP practitioner qualifications, a BA (Hons) in Languages and a PGCE.
Digital
Ahmed Kotb
Ahmed is the IET Digital Lead, responsible for thought leadership and policy within the digital sector. He has a wide range of experience in engineering education, project management and strategy. He holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering having held roles as a process and production engineer in the past. He enjoys the wide breadth of digital, working with volunteers to create game-changing innovation.
Energy
Hannah Rees
Hannah Rees is the IET Energy Lead who collaborates together with an Executive Committee of Members to produce strategic advice to Government, policy input and responds to consultations and media requests. Hannah supports the Energy Panel with industry-related campaigns, public affairs, and delivers thought leadership and energy-related technical reports. Hannah has worked within the energy 'fuel' sector with private conglomerates and public authorities, has a marketing degree, is PRINCE2 qualified and a masters in Business Management.
Healthcare
Nury Moreira
Nury is the IET Healthcare Lead responsible for managing thought leadership programmes on innovative healthcare technologies and their impact on patient care. He has launched programmes and campaigns such as Think BIG, AI Healthcare, Design and Evidence, and Healthy Living and Housing, with an aim to bring about more effective and efficient solutions to the health and care needs of international populations. He has also experience working with Parliamentarians and civil servants in advising and influencing using the engineering voice of the membership to frontbenchers in Government and Opposition in the United Kingdom.
Innovation and Skills
Stephanie Baxter
Stephanie is the IET’s Innovation and Skills Lead where she delivers strategic direction and objectives for the Innovation and Skills panel. She is a consulting professional, skilled in the areas of Policy and Public Affairs, Patent Law, Management, Research and Development (R&D) and Life Sciences. As part of her role, Stephanie spent two years working for Vince Cable at the then Department of Business Innovation and Skills to deliver the Perkins’ Review of Engineering Skills. By background, she is a trained chemist with a first-class honours degree (MChem) and holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law.
Transport
Dr Anna Bonne
As Transport Lead, Anna helps to support the transport engineering community through developing thought leadership that facilitates the advancement and uptake of new innovative technologies in aerospace, marine, rail and road transport. Anna trained as a chemist and has a PhD in organic chemistry from The University of Manchester. Following her PhD she worked as a process chemist scaling up the production of pharmaceuticals and then in academia, for Cranfield University, Imperial College and the University of Oxford, developing relationships with industrial partners to build research and development projects to support innovation. More recently at the IET, Anna’s work has focused on emerging transport technologies and how they can be best adopted by local authorities to help them to meet their objectives and deliver better transport services for local communities.
